Final

When I saw the instruction posted on iLearn for the final project, I came out an idea about creating a mix cut video as my final project. I noticed the instruction told us if we are going to use copyright protected media, we should mash it up and make sure it presents our own thoughts. At that time, I started to plan my project schedule for two weeks. The first thing I did is to find a good topic as a root of my video. At that time, I suddenly recall that one of my favorite movies called John Wick. There are three John Wick movies since 2014 till 2019. I am a fan of Keanu Charles Reeves since his movie called The Matrix. In John Wick, he portrayed a cold blood killer. As the actor’s line shows “John is a man of focus, commitment, sheer will… something you know very little about.” There are many great gunfight scenes in John Wick trilogy. The final project I want to do is to create a montage video with these nice video cuts. I chose the song called ‘Sold Out’ as the background music of my video, and most parts of my video also follow the rhythm of this song. After I decide the topic of my video, I started to look for the resources of these gunfight scenes. After find all these gunfight scenes cuts, I started to make my video. The first thing I did is to use adobe audition to create the background music, I believe that the background music is the most important thing in my video because I need to cut these scenes with its rhythm. At beginning, I was thinking about add some parts of classical music to salute the original part in John Wick 3, where John prepared to fight the agents from ‘High table’. However, I realized that these two types of music are hard to combined together. The final work may give audiences a feeling of strangeness, so I decide to add some sounds from the original films to create a more suitable connection between the video and the audition I used. There are also many difficulties while I was making this video. When I tried to find every beat and make the picture played right on that beat, some of them may make the video become compact and pressing. In that case, I have to make some concessions and just follow the beat at every beginning of these cuts of gunfight. This part is the most difficult one in my project, I have revised these cuts again and again so that my audiences may feel the balance and unity of my work. The editing work took me three days to complete. After I finished most of my video, I started to polish the video through adding transitions between each cut to fill the interspaces. When the polishing work was done, I published the video part to the wordpress and submit my video and audition parts both on iLearn.
